Hamilton International Airport is a public airport situated in Ontario, Canada. To be more precise, it serves and is located some 11 kilometers southwest to the city of Hamilton, in Mount Hope.
Constructed at the time of World War II, around the year 1940, the airport also hosted the Royal Canadian Air Force, but due to residential development, it had to be closed. Back then the Hamilton International Airport was known as the Hamilton Municipal Airport. But now as times and needs changed, this public airport is named after one of Hamilton’s Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister, ‘John C. Munro’; and for that it is officially known as the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.
