Gander International Airport welcomes you the town of Gander. Located in Newfoundland and Labrador, in Canada, this airport is controlled and managed by the official Gander International Airport Authority. The airport shares its airfield with the Canadian Forces Base Gander, it is a segregated portion of the airport.
A little history about the airport
The construction of the airport initiated in 1936, and took two years to complete and finally initiate operations. Until 1941, its official name was Newfoundland Airport. Such was the glory of the Gander International Airport, that only within a few years of its construction; it had four runways and was considered as the world’s largest airport. Today it serves many airlines, like Air Canada, Exploits Valley Air Service, Sunwing Airlines and Air Canada.
