Known to commoners as Adana Airport, otherwise in Turkish called Adana Sakirpasa Havalimani, is a crucial airport to the Turkish city of Adana. Initially opened in 1937 as a civil military airport, the Adana Airport soon afterwards started being operated as just a civil airport. The Adana Airport is very strategically positioned, just 3.5 kilometers away from the center of the city. For the eyes, it is a gorgeous airport and provides a good glance into the awaiting city.
There is absolutely no shortage of cars up for hire at Adana Airport or the city. Once there, you can easily find a car rental station/service and make the most of your travels. Not only are the available cars, cheap or efficient in monetary terms, but many of them are proclaimed remarkable for their services. You get new vehicles, cheap travelling costs and most of all; you can start with them at the very airport you land! Either rent a car over the phone or the internet, or simply grab one at the airport.
Why not renting a car is a bad idea
Even though tour buses and taxis are an available option, they just don’t live up to the cozy idea of a rented car. And why would they? It is either they are blasting with people, or thus there is a seeming disregard for your space and time; or that they are very expensive. Both ways it is a means to sour your journey.
So to save time and your comfort, an advisable and most appropriate means of transport will be a hired car. It is a suitable mode, whether you’re with family, friends or alone.
Places you should visit
I should rather ask what NOT. In all sincerity, Turkey is a blooming spot for tourists. So to narrow down the places that are to be visited is as hard as removing salt from flour. But here’s a decent try at it:
- Taskopru: This 300 yard long stone bridge is laid out beautifully across the Seyhan River. Historically, it is very significant, for it stands to be the world’s oldest bridge! Built somewhere around the 6th century A.D., the bridge is considered to be one of the most remarkable piece of engineering.
- Ulu Camii: This 16th century grandeur structure of intricate interiors is a die for mosque. If you want to wow yourselves, be sure to visit this mosque.
- Adana Merkez Park: Grab your running shoes and heart, for the gorgeousness of the site will make it race hard.
- Saat Kuleshi: Built in 1882, this grand clock tower bespeaks of the splendors of the past.
Adana is more than just these places; there are many restaurants and teahouses alongside the Sehan Lake you can visit. There are also museums and parks you can make a round trip. In all, it is safe to say the city won’t disappoint you.
