Recognized by the full name “Solidarity Szczecin – Goleniow Airport” the airport is one with a history to narrate. It was built as a standard military airport, around 1953 – 1956, when the Cold War as its peak. But as time has elapsed, it now serves as the main airport, bringing in both international and domestic flights into the city of Szczecin, Poland. More precisely the airport is located some 45 kilometers northeast of Szczecin, closer to the town of Goleniow. Their slogan: “One airport. Thousands of passengers. Millions of ideas”, describes their diversity perfectly.
From Szczecin Airport the Poland National Carrier can fly you directly to Washington DC, Chicago, and New York. While domestically, you are connected to other major cities in Poland. Other airlines operating at the airport include Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Air France, Sky Europe and Ryan Air.
