Kahului Airport is the regional airport, located on the northern edge of the land bridge that is between the West Maui Mountain Range and Haleakala. The airport itself is pretty huge, occupying 1,391 acres of land and is just 3 miles east of the Kahului town.
Though flights that reach this airport are originated from Honolulu International Airport, it is the second busiest airport in the State of Hawaii. Statically the 13th busiest airline routes in the U.S. It is also the latest in regards to terminal facilities. The airport caters to both domestic overseas and interisland commercial services. Principally, it is the primary way to reach the island of Maui; which is a gorgeous island in terms of its beaches, sports, dining and partying.
Facilities at the airport
Even though you can hire a car over the internet or via the phone, there are still eight rental car companies located at the airport. More exactly, just on the walkway past the end of the Baggage claim area. You can get yourself a car rental shuttle and it will directly take you the building that has all the rental companies.
