- The Jefferson Vineyards - It is said that the fifth president sold a portion of his land to a viticulturist who transformed it into one of the best vineyards in Virginia. Today the vineyard also doubles as a wine production point. There is a friendly guide to take you round the 20 acres of Vineyard and wine tasting is also allowed at a fee of about $10. The Jefferson Vineyards are about 2km from the Monticello.
- Michie Tavern - this Tavern was first pitched in Earlysville and passed as a food, drinks and accommodation point for passing-by travellers. It was later to be relocated to Charlottesville about 20km from the main town. Michie Tavern gives great tales of the old 17 century times and still offers food and accommodation to guests. The staff is even dressed in garbs borrowed from the colonial times.
- Monticello - this is where Jefferson relocated to and lived while he served as the president of the United States. As you approach the grounds you are immediately captivated by the grandeur architecture used in the mansion, which is accentuated by the well manicured lawns. This mansion houses a great part of the American history, which mainly is the past plantation life of Virginia, the political revolutions and so much more.
- The Downtown Pedestrian Mall - this is where you will find the best malls to shop in and restaurants to dine in while in Charlottesville. There are several art galleries within the street as well in case you have some extra time with you to stroll around.
