Gimpo International Airport is more commonly referred to as, simply, Gimpo Airport. It was originally designed and constructed during the Japanese Imperial period, 1939 – 1942. The airport is located an estimated 15 kilometers west of the Central District, at the far west end of Seoul.
Up until the Incheon International Airport came in 2001, Gimpo Airport was the main international airport servicing South Korea and Seoul. Formerly known as ‘Kimpo International Airport’, the airport has carried as many as 19,904,327 passengers in the year 2003, making it the 3rd largest airport in Korea.

- Bukchon Village - Flanked by two palaces, to its east and west, the Gyongbok Palace and the Changdeok Palace. The village is home to wooden homes, beautiful courtyards, and some to die for old architecture.
