Dakar airport was built to serve the capital city of Senegal, Dakar. Locally, it is also known as Leopold Sedar Senghor. The airports main location is in a town called Yoff located in the northern part of the capital. Getting to the city from the airport is a bit of a distance which makes a car rental convenient for this trip.
With a car rental, not only do you control your trips, but you can get to the inaccessible areas as well. Working with your own travel itinerary is way better than relying on a tour bus trip which is highly controlled.
