Langkawi is a group of 104 islands of Malaysia, in the Andaman Sea and this group of island is part of the district state of Kedah. Official name of Langkawi is ‘Langkawi – The Jewel of Kedah’ and this island is a duty free island. The word ‘Lang’ from the name is taken from the Malay word ‘Helang’ that means an Eagle and ‘Kaw’ that means the reddish brown colour.
