Located 8 kilometers away from Turku City’s center is Turku Airport. The airport is a great place for meetings and a relaxed place to stay in while waiting for your flight. Terminal 1 has the VIP room which is good for 30 people and the room has internet connection, flip chart, and video projector. If you have 25 people to discuss things about, you can easily hire a car to take you all to the airport hassle-free.
If you are meeting your family and would like to arrange a surprise welcome party, Hello Café in Terminal 1 is the perfect place and it can accommodate 6 people. Internet access at Turku Airport is quick and easy as there is no need for passwords. You can automatically connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi. Sumptuous tummy fillers are what you will find at the airport restaurants and cafes. Restaurants and cafes are located in Terminal 1 and 2 and are great places to have coffee with friends or enjoying a snack while waiting for time to pass.
Turku Airport has two terminals and you can park your vehicles or car rental at the car parks fronting each terminal. Parking for persons with disability is also provided and are marked. Now if you wandered around the airport and find yourself at terminal two, there are also a number of restaurants and cafes that you can go to should you get hungry again. One awesome thing about some cafes at Terminal 2 is the availability of liquor. That's right, cafes have liquor license and shops can sell alcoholic beverages; but if the airport staff at the check in counter finds out that you are intoxicated, you might not be allowed to board your flight.
Passengers with infants and young children will find Turku Airport child friendly as there is a baby care table in terminal 1 and you can heat baby food at both terminals 1 and 2. For elderly people and persons with disability, wheelchairs are readily available.
Staying at the airport while waiting for your flight is okay, but it would be more exciting if you tour the city in a car rental as Turku city promises a lot of exciting places to go to such as the Turku Library for bookworms, Turku Cathedral and Turku Castle for architectural and history students. Car rental companies would be glad to take you around the city and enjoy the scenic views of Finland.
