Pudong Airport is the chief international airport serving Shanghai. A major aviation hub for Asia, Pudong airport is a fast growing hub for both passenger and cargo traffic. According to statistics, the Shanghai Pudong Airport is China’s third busiest airport and hosts 87 airlines serving a total of 194 destinations. The Shanghai Pudong airport is located in Pudong New District, east of Shanghai, about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the downtown area and about 40 km away from the Honggiao International Airport. It is considered amongst China’s most important airports.
