Lamezia Terme Airport is situated in Sant’Eufemia which is a district of Lamezia Terme in Calabria of Italy and serves as the main Airport of Calabria. There is a military unit of helicopters known as Sirio and situated nearby it. It was first opened in the year of 1976 with domestic flights and later was expanded in the year of 1982 by government – private investors. At present, Lamezia Airport is a famous destination for international flights and travellers from around 12 countries. Some of the big Airlines having their network of flights from the Airport include Air France, Air Italy, KLM, Air Berlin, Monarch and Ryan air, and many more. The single terminal is used for arrival and departures of all flights. Most of the traffic from here is generated from Germany bound flights with almost 40% of total passengers for this single country destination and Air Berlin providing services to same.

The Airport is well connected through network of shuttle busses and taxies. Transportation to nearby locations can easily be travelled through busses and taxis which are available from outside of the terminal. Even there is a railway station at close proximity of only 2 KM from the terminal, but a bus or a taxi is required to reach the same. The Airport is well equipped to provide comfortable and safe visit to all its passengers. There are ATMs, First Aid facilities, Executive and Business lounges, Tourist Guide information and lots of shopping and dining shops. Due to a nearby railway network, the Airport also serves as a transport hub of the country. There are special facilities available for business class travellers that includes conference facilities, internet facilities which can easily accommodate up to 6 people

The main parking nearest to the terminal is available from 05:00 to 24:00 hours only and this is paid in terms of duration of stay and size of the vehicle. So it is always a better option to confirm your taxi arrangements in advance, which can be done online or by calling the car hire agency. Pre-booking for car hire is also important due to limited number of vehicles available for rental purpose around the Airport. Though there are free parking facilities available, but these are bit far from the reach of the terminal.
